Ashanti's talent was first discovered as a teen. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. Ashanti made an appearance in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? track and Ja Rule's Always on Time track both of which turned into huge smashes. When she released the single, What's Luv, at number two at the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at the top spot featuring Foolish as her debut single, she became the only female artist to accomplish this feat.
